Nathan Hickerson is a native of Desoto County and a product of Desoto County Schools. He graduated from Horn Lake High School in 2009. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mississippi. He taught for four years at Walls Elementary School before going back to receive his Master’s Degree from Arkansas State University. He taught for two more years at Walls Elementary School before being hired as Assistant Principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary School and then was quickly transferred to Lake Cormorant Elementary School where he served as Assistant Principal for four years.

Nathan is married to Chelsea Hickerson. They have a daughter named Caroline and a son, Pierce. He attends church at Getwell Hernando. He enjoys spending time with family, attending Ole Miss football games, hunting, cooking, and reading.

Jessica Atkinson is thrilled to be returning to Lake Cormorant Elementary School to serve as Assistant Principal. She has been a classroom teacher for the last 17 years in the Lake Cormorant school zone, and is excited to continue to serve gator students, parents, and staff. Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis in 2002, and her masters’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2022.

She resides in Hernando with her husband Steve, daughter Addison, and stepson Jax. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and watching college football in her spare time.
