Experience

After several years as an assistant teacher and substitute teacher, I received my teaching degree in 2006, and began teaching first grade at Horn Lake Elementary.  I thoroughly enjoyed teaching there for five years, but transferred to Lake Cormorant Elementary to be closer to my residence.  I  then taught fifth grade for several years before accepting the position of Teacher Interventionist/Title 1 Director at LCES.  In this position, I taught fourth and fifth graders struggling in reading using an intensified reading program and organized information and events for the school.  Although I have enjoyed every opportunity God has blessed me with, I was ecstatic when an opening for 3rd grade became available.  This is my third year in 3rd grade, and I feel truly blessed to work with this age group.  3rd grade ROCKS!

Bio:

Although I was born in Alaska, I have been a resident of Mississippi for almost three decades and consider myself a true "Mississippian".  God has blessed me with a wonderful family that loves camping, traveling and riding horses.  I love teaching and consider it a passion and a reward!
