Experience:
After several years as an assistant teacher and substitute teacher, I received my teaching degree in 2006, and began teaching first grade at Horn Lake Elementary. I taught there for five years, but transferred to Lake Cormorant Elementary to be closer to my residence. I then taught fifth grade for several years before accepting the position of Teacher Interventionist/Title 1 Director at LCES. In this position, I taught fourth and fifth graders using an intensified reading program and organized information and events for the school. Although I have enjoyed every opportunity God has blessed me with, I was ecstatic when an opening for 3rd grade became available. I have been teaching 3rd grade for over 5 years now! I feel truly blessed to work at LCES. 3rd grade ROCKS!!
Bio:
Although I was born in Alaska, I have been a resident of Mississippi for almost three decades and consider myself a true "Mississippian". God has blessed me with a wonderful family, including a son in the Air Force and a daughter who graduated college last year. I enjoy camping and traveling with my husband and visiting my family as much as possible. I love teaching and consider it a passion and a reward!
