Bachelors in Education from David Lipscomb University

Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Memphis

I can hardly believe it, but this is 20th year to teach!  My first 13 years were spent teaching in the Memphis City Schools.  While there, I spent five years in first grade and four years teaching third grade.  The other years were spent as Reading/Curriculum Coordinator, where I was able to work closely with the administration and classroom teachers.  While that was a great opportunity for me, I realized that my heart belonged in the classroom!  After spending a few years at home with my young children, I returned to teaching first grade in the Tate County School District, and now I'm so excited to be at Hope Sullivan Elementary for the third year teaching the sweetest first graders I've ever met!

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Kirk, for 20 years, and we live in Hernando, MS. We also have two great kids, Kaylee and Brayden.  Kaylee is in the 8th grade and Brayden is in the 6th grade.  During my free time, I love spending time with my family outdoors.  I am also a passionate gardener.   I love getting my hands dirty!  I also have a passion for teaching.  I absolutely love spending time with my students and watching them grow into mature readers and thinkers.  I pray for my students daily that each one will do well in school and in their daily lives so that each one can reach his/her potential.
